What are the braking methods for servo motors?

Release time:2023-10-21 08:37:17点击:

1. Electromagnetic braking:

It refers to locking the axis of the servo motor through a mechanical device. Electromagnetic braking requires external relay control during operation and does not require power supply during operation.

2. Dynamic braking:

Composed of dynamic braking resistors, it shortens the mechanical feed distance of the servo motor through energy consumption braking during faults, emergency stops, and power outages. The operation of the dynamic brake requires external relay control and does not require power supply during operation.

3. Regenerative braking:

It refers to the energy generated by the braking of the servo motor during deceleration or parking, which is fed back to the DC bus through the inverter circuit and absorbed by the resistance capacitance circuit. The work of regenerative braking is automatically carried out by the system, and it only takes effect when the server is working normally. In case of faults, emergency stops, power outages, and other situations, the motor cannot be braked.

Today, the CNC editor of Zhifu will introduce to you the various braking methods of servo motors. Different braking methods have their own advantages and characteristics. When choosing the braking method of servo motors, everyone should fully consider their own actual situation.
